Byredo

Byredo is a high-end perfume brand that opts for an elegant and minimalist aesthetic. It offers an alternative luxury experience: “To be unique and yourself.” Simplicity and uniqueness are the hallmarks of Byredo as the brand identity adheres to the Scandinavian minimalism.

Challenges

Byredo is a well-established brand, but there is room for improvement when it comes to the website. The challenge was to redesign the overall layout so it follows the customer's visual flow and to provide sufficient brand and product descriptions while embodying the three core values of Byredo — simplicity, uniqueness, and modernity.

My Approach

In order to provide users with better insights into Byredo's brand and products, my approach began with incorporating more detailed explanations throughout the site. To ensure the design remained distinctive yet accessible, I introduced a unique layout that aligns with Byredo's core values while avoiding repetition.

Easy navigation is key to providing a user-friendly experience on any website. Therefore, I balanced the design with simplicity to prevent users from feeling overwhelmed. The layout emphasises typography and uses a flexible grid system, presenting images at various sizes to create a visually appealing and intuitive experience. This approach allowed me to introduce design elements that reflect the brand's identity without compromising the user's experience.

Results

Balancing simplicity and uniqueness was the key essence of this project. Furthermore, it was crucial to ensure that clear explanations were provided and the design language was intuitive. Utilising this approach allowed the site to impress without creating confusion, enabling the products and brand essence to stand out.
