Badger

Badger is a platform aimed at providing accessible networking opportunities for everyone, making the world of work less lonely. My responsibility in this project was to create new screens, with a primary focus on user interface to guide the future product development.

Challenges

One of the key challenges of this project was to ensure that users could quickly understand what the platform offers without needing any in-depth explanations or guidance. In order to address this issue, my responsibility was to design an overall interface that was clear and intuitive. The main focus was on designing the screens as simple as possible in order to minimise any learning curve for new users and also to allow users to seamlessly navigate and utilise Badger’s features.

My Approach

My first step was to conduct reference research to identify the most effective layout. This phase was the most time-consuming, as it involved analysing various design references to ensure the final product was simple but user-friendly.

Based on the variety of references, I designed multiple versions of wireframes for each screen. By visualising different possibilities, I was able to analyse which version would be the most intuitive and user-friendly. This comparison helped me assess the strengths and weaknesses, ensuring the final design met the project requirements.

Later on, I developed the different versions of the wireframes into high-fidelity designs in order to present to the sponsor. This step enabled our team to closely evaluate the visual and functional aspects of each design, helping us to identify the most effective design solution.

After a version of the high-fidelity design was chosen, I received feedback from the sponsor on how to improve the screens, which allowed me to refine and iterate the designs to better align with the project's goals. This iterative process played an essential role in fine-tuning the details and ultimately achieving a polished final product.

Results

I created a final high-fidelity design of home, profile, requests and activity screens and handed the design off to the sponsor. I focused on keeping the design simple and uncluttered with a minimal amount of information on one screen.

Future Plans

As the design is still under iteration based on the handed-off design, the final product is yet to be launched. Therefore, future plans would be to make small iterations, such as adding additional sub-screens and tabs to organise and present information more clearly.
